The SOA administers multiple–choice examinations on behalf of the Joint Board for the Enrollment of Actuaries. The basic EA–1 and the pension EA–2 (Segment B) examinations are administered in the spring of each year. The pension EA–2 (Segment A) examination is administered in the fall.
