Exam MLC is a traditional paper and pencil exam which is administered at select locations. These locations can be found in our Exam Center Locations document below. It consists of four hours of multiple-choice and written-answer questions. A 15 minute read-through time will be given prior to the start of the exam. Details regarding exam format and grading are provided in the syllabus document and through links provided within that document.
After July 1, 2018 this exam will be revised and renamed the Long-Term Actuarial Mathematics Exam. Learn more.
The syllabus for Exam MLC develops the candidate's knowledge of the theoretical basis of contingent payment models and the application of those models to insurance and other financial risks. A thorough knowledge of calculus, probability and interest theory is assumed. Knowledge of risk management at the level of Exam P is also assumed.
