Group and Health Finance and Valuation Exam

Group and Health Finance and Valuation (FV)is a five-hour written-answer exam that is offered in the spring and fall of each year. Both a U.S. and Canadian version of the exam will be administered, each of which has its own reading list. It is a requirement of the Group and Health Track.
The FV Exam along with the Design & Pricing (DP) Exam have replaced the previously offered Group and Health Core and Group and Health Advanced exams.
During a time of transition through the Spring 2021 exam administration the FV Exam will be divided in to two segments as follows:
- Finance and Valuation-Core (FV-C) – A three-hour exam with Canadian and U.S. versions
- Finance and Valuation-Advanced (FV-A) – A two-hour exam

Canadian version of this exam is recognized by the Canadian Institute of Actuaries.
